Amazon Echo Dominates Your Smart Home

Amazon believes in technological innovation. The company has no signs to stop working for the world of technology as it is constantly trying to expand into more business categories. It recently extended its business to the smartphone market and failed to do well or even compete with medium or high-end smartphones. Consequently, the company planned to enter the market of smart devices and came up with a smart device, named ‘Echo'. Initially, it was just a stationary device, which could play music, shop by voice on users' request, and answer to some questions.
Amazon Echo is $200 connected speaker, which serves its users as a virtual assistant. The stationary device, which was previously limited to few tasks, now has the ability to control your home smartly. The smart tasks performed by this gadget include controlling the lights along with other electronic appliances. Tech Crunch reports "Amazon announced today, by way of an email to current customers, that Echo has been updated to support a variety of connected devices from companies including WeMo and Hue."
Amazon's announcement explains about the company collaborating with two other organizations of the similar industry. The tech giant said in an email that its device would fully support "LightStrip lights, Bloom, BR30, Lux, Hue's A19, Light Switch, Insight Switch, and WeMo's Switch". However, these are just the beginning and it will be adding more product integrations to its device in the near future. The company seeks to make Echo more than a virtual assistant.
Users will now be able to control their home through Amazon's smart device. Amazon's release states, "You can now use Echo to switch on the lamp before getting out of bed, turn on the fan or heater while reading in your favorite chair, or dim the lights from the couch to watch a movie — all without lifting a finger… or even raising your voice." Various market analysts and experts have critically acclaimed and appreciated the endeavors of the company.
The aforementioned product was launched in November last year, which only required an internet connection to become a stationary user-friendly ‘Siri-like' device. Wall Street Journal reports, "The full potential for Amazon's device, though, is elusive, and it faces stiff competition from competing services like Apple's Siri, Google's Now and Microsoft's Cortana. Still, a fully connected home has long been a coveted prize for tech firms." This is all growing up rapidly due to fast development of Internet of Things (IoT) in the technology world.
